“Time is slipping away”

Özge Kul often explores the concepts of time and memory in her work, evaluating these concepts through her own personal experience, consciousness, and identity.

In the Absence series, the artist invites the viewer to reflect on time by altering the stories trapped in a two-dimensional image. Our memories, shaped by the moments that form them, are trapped in a single moment. Unlike our memories, the image we hold in our hands is discontinuous. With Absence Series, the artist has realized a production based on the journey of an image that never changes in the mind.
