In the photographic series of Disclosure Özge Kul approaches the undertake to unfold the ambivalent behavior of the ruling class towards minorities. While the rulers take part in creating the term of minority -in pointing out differences that are not there- they distribute not only opinions about them, but also evil within the society. In the artist’s believe the rulers use this tool of creating the Other on purpose: It’s a tool of demonstrating power against them and spreading fear into a society. As a result of this method the society accepts the created minorities as the wrong ones which often turned into a witch-hunt.

In Disclosure the artist wants to point out this circle of injustice: She takes pictures of body-parts of these Others created by her society, while searching for the differences, which are not to be found. While exhibiting the work, she even goes a step further and overtakes the methods of torture of Inquisition and puts needles into the bodies photographs – a method that has been used in this time-period for witch-hunting.
